Principal's Welcome

Mark Gardiner Principal

At Hill Top Public School, we acknowledge the custodians of the land on which our school is situated, the Gundungurra People, and pay our respect to those Elders past, present and emerging of the Aboriginal Nations of New South Wales on whose lands we live, learn and work.

Over the past 10 years, I have been fortunate to work alongside high performing staff in this dynamic and evolving school community. In my time here as Principal, I have seen our HTPS transtition to become a school where our culture values diverstiy, innovation and engagement in learning.

Hill Top is a small and intimate community which allows our staff to deliver on our department’s goal to have every student known, valued and cared for. Our classrooms are characterised by personalised learning and individual relationships, underpinned by evidence based teaching practice. We lean on the department’s mantra that each year every student, teacher, leader and school continuously improves.

We have a modern school complex rebuilt in 2004, nestled neatly behind a historical sign and bell marking the school’s 1884 inception. Hill Top is a proud community and our school plays a central role within it. We have vast grassed playing areas equipped with a range of play equipment and a large modern undercover playing court. We welcome our community to support a strong P&C through regular volunteering opportunities.

Our school extends various opportunities to our students in the Creative and Performing Arts, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), and sports, in addition to the broader academic pursuits of every day. Hill Top Public School empowers all students to value learning for life, promote wellbeing for all, support their family, school and community and to reflect our shared values of being safe, respectful learners. We aim to prepare young people for rewarding lives as engaged citizens in a complex and dynamic society.

Hill Top Public School is a great place to work and learn, and we welcome you to contact our friendly office staff with any enquiries for our school.

Kind regards,

Mark Gardiner

Principal.
